Cristina R. Baumgardner

Cristina is the President and Owner of Lucent Consulting, specializing in forensic accounting, business valuation, and litigation support. Her valuation experience includes marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, and estate and gift tax valuations. Her forensic accounting work includes separate property tracing, reimbursement analyses, financial investigations, marital estate analysis, and economic damages.

Cristina has served as a retained expert, as well as a court-appointed, jointly retained, and collaborative financial neutral. She has provided expert testimony in depositions, trials, and arbitration. Before founding Lucent Consulting, Cristina developed extensive experience in forensic accounting, valuation, fraud investigation, internal audit, and financial analysis, including roles with Ridout Barrett & Co. and BKD.

Her professional involvement has included serving on the board of the San Antonio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and as Treasurer for Collaborative Divorce Professionals of San Antonio. Outside of work, Cristina enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time at the ranch with her family.

Director

Gerald Hill

Gerald brings decades of accounting and forensic experience to Lucent Consulting. After beginning his career in traditional accounting, Gerald shifted his focus to forensic services in the mid-1980s and has since been engaged or appointed in more than 500 cases. His experience spans forensic accounting, litigation support, business valuation, financial investigations, marital dissolution, business litigation, bankruptcy, contested estates, and oil and gas matters.

His long career has included accounting work across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, apart from a period of service in the U.S. Air Force. Gerald now works on a part-time basis, bringing the perspective gained from decades of complex financial work to the Lucent team. Outside of work, Gerald enjoys fishing and spending time at his weekend home in Rockport, Texas.

Richard (Rick) D. Soat

Rick is a Director with Lucent Consulting and brings more than 20 years of experience in litigation support and business valuation. His work spans marital and business disputes, estates and gifts, asset tracing and characterization, reimbursement analyses, fraud and misuse of funds, damages calculations, and collaborative divorce engagements.

Rick’s background extends beyond litigation consulting. He has worked in public accounting across both tax and audit, held financial management roles, and led quality control for an accounting software company. His valuation experience includes businesses across a wide range of industries, including automotive, construction, healthcare, insurance, oil and gas, professional services, real estate, and facilities management.

Rick has also held leadership roles with Collaborative Divorce Texas, Collaborative Divorce San Antonio, Texas Public Radio, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council. In his free time, Rick enjoys sports, music, fitness, documentaries, the outdoors, and spending time with family.

CFE | Senior Analyst

Kaley Redding

Kaley is a Senior Analyst with Lucent Consulting, where she analyzes accounting, financial, and business records for litigation, mediation, and trial support. Her work includes tracing separate property in marital dissolution cases, as well as conducting financial analysis and industry research to support business valuations. Kaley joined Lucent as an intern in 2023, became a Staff Analyst in 2024, and advanced to Senior Analyst in 2025.

Before joining the firm, she completed a forensic accounting internship with the San Antonio Police Department, where she analyzed financial statements, organized financial data, and conducted legal research to support case development. Her earlier experience also includes several years in banking. A College Station native, Kaley enjoys hiking, road trips, and live music.

Analyst

Jessica Hammock

Jessica is an Analyst with Lucent Consulting, supporting divorce litigation, mediation, business valuation, and forensic accounting engagements. Her work includes analyzing financial records, assisting with separate property tracing, organizing and interpreting financial data for business valuations, and helping prepare client deliverables across active engagements.

Jessica joined Lucent as an intern before transitioning into a full-time Analyst role. Her background in the service industry also gave her several years of experience working directly with people in fast-paced environments, strengthening the communication, adaptability, and attention to detail she now brings to her work with clients and colleagues.

She continues to expand her financial and analytical skill set while working toward additional professional certifications. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys cooking and baking, spending time with her two dogs, and being with friends and family. She can also often be found working on a Sudoku puzzle.

Analyst

Candice VanderMolen

Candice is an Analyst with Lucent Consulting, supporting financial analysis and litigation-related engagements with a focus on marital dissolution. Her work includes financial research, document review, asset analysis, and support for the tracing of separate property.

Candice first joined Lucent as a part-time intern, where she received specialized training in divorce litigation support and assisted with tracing and analyzing separate property assets. She transitioned into a full-time Analyst role in April 2026 and continues to build her financial and analytical experience through active client engagements.

Before joining Lucent, Candice worked in hospitality while completing her degree, developing the communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform accurately in fast-paced environments that she now brings to her role. Outside of work, Candice enjoys paddle boarding, reading, exploring new places, and traveling to visit family. She has three cats, although she considers herself more of a dog person.
